Empties: October 2015

In October I unfortunately only managed to finish one makeup item, but I did finish quite a bit of full-size skincare. I focused my attention on using up more perfume samples as I really want to start clearing those out as I've got quite a back-up. There's a whole drawer dedicated to different sized perfume samples that I'd like to use for storing something else. Otherwise I'm hoping I'll finish more makeup next month, and think I just might as there's a few things nearing it's end. But for now, onto my empties for October.

REN Rosa Centifolia No. 1 Purity Cleansing Balm 100ml ( review - here )
I've gone through so many of these by now, I won't bore you with the same details. I've got a backup I'm already on to. I love this, and will continue to re-purchase.

Pai Perfect Balance Blemish Serum Copaiba & Zinc 30ml( review - here )
I've just written a full review of this, so you can check that out if you want more information. I'll just say that I absolutely loved it. I will definitely re-purchase, but I'm not sure if I will right away. It's been perfect for the early fall, but towards the end I could tell it wasn't providing enough moisture for my dehydrated skin. I think I'll need something that gives a bit more moisture through the winter months, but I'll buy another bottle when the weather gets a bit more mild in spring instead.

Caudalie Overnight Detox Oil 1ml ( here )
I love this. It's been on my to-buy list for ages, and still is. I've got a bit too many oils and serums going, hand have been for a while, so I won't buy this until I've pared down my stash a bit more. I've been making a good dent, but I've still got way too many, at least to be buying any more!

Clarins Extra-Firming Eye Wrinkle Smoothing Cream 3ml ( here )
This is decent, but nothing special. It wasn't super moisturising and didn't provide any noticeable results. I'm now using a sample of a richer Sensai eye balm and after using that I could instantly tell that that is much better than this. I'll use this again if I get another sample, but otherwise I'm not impressed.

Clarins Instant Eye Make-Up Remover 125ml ( here )
I used to love this, but I wasn't as wowed by it this time as I remember being in the past. I'm not sure if my mascara was just particularly stubborn or my eyes have gotten more sensitive, but it wasn't a good fit. I might try it again ways down the line, but for now I think I'll be looking for other things to try.

La Roche-Posay Serozinc Zinc Sulfate Solution 150ml ( here )
This is a favourite. I spray this all over my face in the morning, pat it into the skin and let it absorb while I go make my tea. It's so soothing, balancing and just calms everything down. It used to be something I'd have to stock up on when I would go to France, but now they sell it at Feelunique.com so it's super easy to get a hold of. I'll definitely keep re-purchasing, this is probably bottle number ten or something I've been through.

Caudalie Beauty Elixir 100ml ( review - here )
Another favourite I've lost count how many I've gone through. I really want to buy it yet again, but it's so expensive and I'm not really sure it does anything, to be perfectly honest. I mean, it does help give my skin a nice glow and makes makeup look much more natural and perfect.. Oh who am I kidding, I'll definitely be buying another bottle. Savings be damned.

Clarins Radiance-Plus Golden Glow Booster 15ml ( review - here )
As an everyday SPF kind of girl a tan is somewhat of a faint memory by now. I'd use self tanners twice a week if I could be bothered, but I just can't. However, this solves all my ghostface problems. A few drops of this mixed in with my daily moisturiser and I've got a nice healthy glow all year round. I'm not tan compared to just about anyone, but I look a lot more healthy and radiant.

Sephora Ginseng Mask 1x25g ( here )
My last Sephora Sheet Mask. This was ok. I was hoping it would give me a mega-glow, but that was nowhere to be seen. Out of all the Sephora sheet masks I've tried this is definitely one of the least impressive. The Lingzhi and Rose Mask have definitely been my personal favourites, so if you want to try some of these, I'd definitely recommend those, and skip the others, including this one.

Nuxe Sun SPF 50 Fondant Cream for Face 50ml ( here )
This is a decent sunscreen, but not one that I'll be buying again. It didn't break me out or anything like that, but it felt a bit heavy as I applied it, and I don't love that feeling. It's kind of silly because, like I said, it didn't negatively affect my skin in any way, but as long as I have the choice between this and something else that also doesn't bother my skin but also feels lighter, then I'll go for the latter.

The Body Shop Pink Grapefruit Hand Cream 30ml ( here )
This is a nice hand cream. I love the little size, it's perfect for carrying around in my hand bag. It smells really nice - it's really fresh, and like, predictably, grapfruit. It's not the best hand cream in terms of treating the hands, but for daytime I'm less fussed about that. I could potentially pick up another tube of this whilst at the counter at The Body Shop, but I won't go there just to buy it.

MUJI Peelable Cotton 60 ( here )
I've talked about these before. My favourite cotton, purchased at Muji. If you love the Shiseido cotton, but find the price tag a tad hard to swallow, buy these instead. They are just as soft, just as nice, and less than half the price.

Fushi Organic Rosehip Oil 100ml ( review - here )
I love this stuff! I've been through countless bottles of this. This was my last bottle, and it's been sold out at Feelunique for months, but it just got re-stocked and I quickly ordered 2 more. Get it quick if you want to try, this tends to sell out fast!

The Body Shop Tea Tree Body Wash 250ml ( here )
I don't have big troubles with acne on my back and chest, thank god, but I do have very sensitive skin and can get a bit red, and some red bumps here and there (sorry if that is TMI). So, when summer rolled around I wanted to be able to wear lighter clothes, and so wanted this problem to pretty much go away. My friend recommended this to me, and it really did work. My skin has been in great condition and less sensitive overall. It's quite amazing. I didn't have too much to begin with so I can't speak for how this works if you do, but I'd say definitely give it a try if it's something you're curious about.

Giorgio Armani Designer Lift Foundation 30ml ( reviewhere )
A bit of a spoiler as this is part of my use it up project, but here you go, I've finished it already. There wasn't heaps left to begin with, but I'm happy to have used it up nonetheless. It's a very nice foundation, but as I talked about in my full review of it, I've got other foundations I enjoy more so I won't be buying this again. At least not for now.

Caudalie Lip Conditioner 4.5g ( here )
Lip balms in stick form never really seem to do much, I find, but this is different. This is probably the best lip balm (in stick form) I've ever used. This felt really nice and buttery on the lips, it absorbed nicely and actually made a difference. After it was all absorbed or disappeared onto a coffee cup, I didn't feel the typical instant need to re-apply. I'll definitely buy this again!

Bath & Body Works PocketBac in Cozy Vanilla Cream 29ml ( here )
This is one of the items Megan sent me as part of our swap at the beginning of the year, and I loved it. It smells absolutely delicious! If I could I would re-purchase.

Viktor & Rolf Bon Bon Eau de Parfum 1.5ml ( here )
I'm surprised at how much I enjoyed this, but as it's heavy on caramel and amber notes I shouldn't be surprised. It's quite a nice gourmand fragrance, that has a bit of a fresh twist. I'm not sure I'll ever buy the full-size myself, but if I should receive it as a gift I know I would be very excited.

Dolce & Gabbana Pour Femme Eau de Parfum here )
I really enjoyed this and again it's probably the gourmand notes of marshmallow and vanilla that I like so much. There's also a nice bit of raspberry which makes it a bit more fresh and feminine. Another one I probably won't buy myself, but would be happy to own.

Prada Candy Eau de Parfum here )
This one's been on my wishlist for ages, but for some reason I never end up buying it. It's also a gourmand fragrance, which is not accidental as I gravitate towards those this time of the year. It has notes of caramel, benzoin and vanilla, among others, which are notes I tend to love. If you love a good gourmand fragrance then this is definitely one to take a look at.

Juicy Couture I Am Juicy Couture 1.5ml + sheet sample. ( here )
This was overly sweet and cheap smelling. It was a bit fun to wear for a little bit, but it bothered me after a bit as it was so overly sweet, almost sickening. If I was twelve perhaps this would be somewhat appropriate, but still then I'd say don't waste your money. There's nothing special about this that you can't get from a much cheaper body spray, which will last about the same amount of time as well, I might add.
