Becca Eye Tint in Vicuna, Baroque & Pewter

Top to bottom: Pewter, Baroque, Vicuna.

Love these Becca eye tints (surprise, surprise! ;-)).  They're so convenient and easy to use.  I just apply with my finger.  They're waterproof and last all day.  If blended well they do not crease.  Occasionally, I'll find it will crease a bit if I haven't blended well or put a tad too much on and product settles into my crease, but this is easily touched up with your finger - tada!  Gone - and it usually doesn't happen again.  You only need just the tiniest bit.  You can use it on its own or as a base for other eye shadow colours or pigments.

I bought Vicuna and Baroque eye tints and the Pewter was purchased as part of the Becca Smokey Eye Set (which came with a Line + Illuminate Pencil, Dual Ended Anti-Bacterial Sharpener and my absolute favourite mascara(!!) "Ultimate Mascara" in black).  That smokey eye set was quite an excellent value - however, unfortunately I don't think they sell these anymore - at least I haven't seen it on the Becca website recently. :-(  You can still purchase the items individually though.

Colours
  • Vicuna: Soft apricot gold - this is my absolute favourite!  I've been using it everyday for work just on its own or when I need something quick and simple that brightens up my eyes.  10 seconds applying it with my finger and I'm out the door! :-)
    • Note: this does have a lot of extremely finely milled gold shimmer in the product even though it does not really show up as extremely shimmery at all - mmm...if that makes any sense!  I guess it's because it is sooo finely milled, the effect is not as strong.  Anyway, you will notice it when you remove the tint that tiny specs of gold shimmer is left behind - they're so tiny they are actually a bit tricky to remove!  Not that I mind that much coz it actually looks quite pretty! ;-) LOL.
  • Baroque: Mushroom beige.  Would suit light to medium skin tones.  Unfortunately it doesn't really show up on my olive-tan skin - it looks slightly muddy on me, but I would use still use this as a base for other eye shadow colours or pigments.
  • Pewter: Rich grey black.  Perfect for creating that sexy smokey eye.  Quite buildable depending on how intense you want your eyes to be.  Quick and easy to apply.

Swatches left to right: Vicuna, Baroque, Pewter.
Texture
Smooth and gel-like to creamy and sets dry, smooth and light.  The texture is similar to the Becca beach tints which I will do a review and swatches of soon! ^_^  It's very much one of the newest technologies in eye shadow - a very modern texture.  I haven't seen anything like this out in the market (please let me know if there are any similar by adding a comment below!) - there are a lot of cream eye shadows out there which is also one of the more modern textures of today, but none that are gel-like like the Becca eye tints which are much lighter in texture and easier to work with than some cream eye shadows that can be a bit thicker.

  • Note that with any of the Becca tint products (beach tint and eye tints) you may need to rub the tube between your hands very well prior to use in order to mix the product inside as sometimes it can separate and you can end up with watery fluid coming out in a mess.  I haven't had to do this at all with the Vicuna tint, but more so with the Pewter and Baroque - I'm not sure why!

Smell
None. :-)

Size
7ml/0.24 fl oz tube

Packaging
Simple signature Becca dark brown plastic tube with silver screw top lid.  Part of the tube is transparent so you can see the colour of the product and see how much of the content is left.  I love this packaging because it's tiny and light and therefore, convenient for throwing in your bag or travelling with - no mess, no fuss.  It's hygienic because you just squeeze the amount you require out of the tube without having to stick your fingers/brushes in and contaminating the product.  Last but not least, because it's a squeezable tube - you can squeeze every last drop of the product and there's no wastage!
