Sometimes we like to share things simply for their beauty. These dazzling photos of diamonds are amazing! The Gemological Institute of America (GIA) will host an exhibit called "Dreams of Diamonds" from April 29 through May 11 at their headquarters in Carlsbad, California to coincide with the release of 'Dreams of Diamonds', the largest book ever published about these sought after gemstones.
Seven of the world's finest diamond houses will showcase exceptionally rare diamonds and elaborate jewelry. The exhibit is made up of twenty-five diamond pieces ranging from a pair of boots set with 1,527 carats of diamonds to a 50.05 carat D color, Flawless briolette shown in the picture above.
Although most of us won't get a chance to see the iconic diamonds in person, feast your eyes on these photos that are sure to inspire your own dreams of diamonds!
This amazing necklace features a 54.29 carat yellow diamond and 67.10 carats of white diamonds!
Pretty in pink, this necklace with a detachable brooch has 22.90 carats of pink diamonds and 48.99 carats of white diamonds.
"The creators of 'Dreams of Diamonds' were able to capture extraordinary diamonds pieces in enchanting, ethereal settings," said Terri Ottaway, curator of the GIA museum. "This exhibit is an ode to the wondrous world of diamonds..." In the image from the book shown below, the earrings alone have 836 diamonds weighing a total of 36.05 carats.
The large-format book weighs over 30 pounds so it seems appropriate that it is honored with an exhibit of more than 4,000 carats of diamonds!
